RAGLAN BACH
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
An existing dwelling makes way for a new simple yet architecturally eloquent family bach set near Aroara Bay in coastal Raglan. The new bach is set amongst existing trees overlooking the bay, and is separated into a living building and sleeping building, with a covered entertaining area between.
Although single level, there is next to no standard residential structure in the build, with glulam rafters, columns and concealed connections framing regular full height glazing panels and supporting the roof.
Great collaboration between structure and architecture made it a rewarding and smooth building consent process.
